Scoreboard Settings

Configure every aspect of how the scoreboard looks and behaves — from the sport style and team names to clock behavior and on-screen positioning. Access these settings by tapping the scoreboard edit button.

Style & Sport

The scoreboard style determines the sport layout, the scoring controls that appear on screen, and whether a game clock and shot clock are supported. Choose the style that matches your sport before the game begins.

All available styles are listed below, grouped by sport.

Basketball

Flipboard
Basketball
Classic two-team scoreboard with home/away scores, period counter, and optional shot clock.
Flipboard II
Basketball
Updated basketball board with a refreshed layout and additional display options.
Logoboard
Basketball / Any
Emphasizes team logos. The score display surrounds the logo images. Works for any sport.

Multi-Sport / General

Longboard
Any Sport
Wide horizontal strip across the bottom or top of the frame. Clean two-team score layout with period/period counter.
Longboard II
Any Sport
Updated version of Longboard with a refined appearance.
Clock Longboard
Any Timed Sport
Longboard variant with the game clock given prominent center placement.
Simpleboard
Any Sport
Minimal scoreboard showing only team names and scores. Maximum readability, minimum screen real estate.
Digiboard
Any Sport
Digital scoreboard aesthetic using a segmented-display style font for the scores.
Clockboard
Any Timed Sport
Clock-forward layout where the game clock is the dominant element and scores are secondary.

Baseball & Softball

Baseboard
Baseball / Softball
Baseball-specific board showing runs by inning, total runs, hits, and errors. Tap each inning column to enter the inning score.
Baseboard II
Baseball / Softball
Updated baseball board with additional display options and a cleaner look.

Soccer & Football

Soccerboard
Soccer
Soccer-style board with a match timer and two-team score display. Timer counts up from 0:00 by default.
Futboard
Football / Futbol
Football-style scoreboard with period, score, and game clock support.

Volleyball

Volleyboard
Volleyball
Volleyball board tracking points per set and sets per match. Tap controls update both the current set score and the overall set count.

Tennis

Tennisboard
Tennis
Displays points (with traditional tennis scoring or numeric), games per set, and sets per match. Tennis Scoring mode handles 15/30/40/Deuce notation automatically.

Hockey

Hockeyboard
Hockey
Hockey board with period, two-team score, and game clock. Includes support for penalty timers.

Pool / Billiards

Nine Ball Board
9-Ball Pool
Specialized scoring for 9-ball pool including a ball-tracking bitmask display showing which balls have been pocketed.
Tip: You can switch the scoreboard style at any time from the scoreboard settings — even between periods. The new style takes effect immediately on the next recorded frame.

Team Configuration

Identity settings for the two teams and the game itself.

Home Team Name
The name displayed for the home team. Keep it short — most scoreboard styles have limited width for team names. Abbreviations (e.g., "LAKERS", "CHI") work well. Tap the library icon next to the field to pick from your saved Team Library, which fills in the name and team color at once.
Away Team Name
The name displayed for the visiting team. Same guidelines as the home team name. Tap the library icon to pick from your saved teams.
Game Type
A short label that categorizes the game, such as "Varsity", "JV", "Playoff", or "Tournament". Tap the picker to choose from your saved Game Type library, or type a custom value. The selected game type is stored separately from the game description so it can be reused across many games.
Game Description
Optional freeform text shown within or below the scoreboard — for context like "Playoff Game 3" or "Home vs. Away". Tap the picker to choose from your saved Description library. Not all scoreboard styles display this field.
Score Type
For scoreboards that support multiple scoring modes (such as tennis), this controls what unit the score buttons increment and display. In standard modes this is simply "Points". The Tennisboard can switch between standard numeric and traditional tennis notation (15 / 30 / 40 / Deuce / Ad). Tap the picker to choose from your saved Score Type library for quick access to commonly used modes.
Team Library: Save your frequently used teams once — name and color — and apply them to any game in seconds. Open the Team Library from the scoreboard settings, add a team, and it appears in the picker next to each team name field. Updating a saved team does not retroactively change past recordings.

Colors & Logos

Customize the visual appearance of each team's section of the scoreboard. Score text colors adjust automatically — each score label uses black or white based on which provides better contrast against the team's chosen color.

Home Team Color
The primary accent or background color for the home team's side of the scoreboard. A color picker lets you match the team's actual colors. This color appears in the team name band, score background, or both, depending on the scoreboard style.
Away Team Color
The primary accent color for the away team's side of the scoreboard.
Additional Colors
Some scoreboard styles support one or two additional accent colors for elements like the background, dividers, or clock area. These are labeled "Other Color 1" and "Other Color 2" in the settings.
Use Home Team Logo
When On, displays a team logo image in the home team's section of the scoreboard instead of (or alongside) the solid color block. The logo image is configured separately in the scoreboard editor. When Off, only the team color is shown.
Default: Off
Use Away Team Logo
Same as above for the away team.
Default: Off
Normalize Team Font Sizes
When On, both team names are displayed at the same font size regardless of their length, giving the scoreboard a consistent, symmetric appearance. When Off, longer names may render at a slightly reduced size to fit within the available space.
Default: On

Position & Size

Control where the scoreboard appears on the video frame and how large it is.

Scoreboard Location
Choose one of six positions for the scoreboard on the video frame.
Top LeftUpper-left corner
Top CenterUpper-center, horizontally centered
Top RightUpper-right corner (broadcast convention)
Bottom LeftLower-left corner
Bottom CenterLower-center, horizontally centered
Bottom RightLower-right corner
Default: Bottom Center
Scale Percentage
The size of the scoreboard expressed as a percentage of its default size. 100% is the designed default. Reduce to make the scoreboard smaller and leave more room for the game action. Typical values: 70–110%.
Default: 100%
Margins
Fine-tunes how far the scoreboard sits from the edges of the frame. There are four margin values: left, right, top, and bottom. Adjust these if the scoreboard overlaps with on-field graphics, sideline markings, or referee areas.

Game Clock

Settings for the primary game clock shown on scoreboards that support a timer. Not all scoreboard styles include a game clock — these settings only apply when the selected style supports one.

Show Game Clock
Toggle the clock display on or off. Even if the scoreboard style supports a clock, you can hide it here (for example, if you only want to show scores without a timer).
Default: On (when supported)
Clock Starting Time
The time the clock starts at when a new period or session begins. For count-down clocks, set this to the period length (e.g., 12:00 for a 12-minute basketball quarter). For count-up clocks, this is typically 0:00.
Reset Time
The time the clock jumps to when you tap the reset button on the remote or on-screen controls. Typically the same as the starting time, but can be different for overtime periods.
Count Direction
Count DownClock counts from the starting time toward 0:00 (default for most sports)
Count UpClock counts from 0:00 upward (typical for soccer match time)
Default: Count Down
Pause Clock on Recording Pause
When On, tapping the ScoreCam pause button automatically pauses the game clock as well. This keeps the recorded clock time synchronized with the actual game time across video segments.
Default: On
Show Game Clock Controls
Whether the game clock controls (Start/Stop and Reset buttons) are visible on the camera screen and available from the Scoreboard Remote.
Default: On
Controls Transparency
A slider that sets the opacity of the on-screen score and clock controls while recording. At maximum the controls are fully opaque; drag toward minimum to make them semi-transparent so they draw less visual attention in the camera view. The minimum value keeps controls faintly visible so they remain tappable.
Default: Fully opaque — visible when Show Game Clock Controls is on

Shot Clock

Settings for a secondary shot clock, available primarily on basketball scoreboards. The shot clock is a separate countdown timer independent of the game clock.

Show Shot Clock
Toggle the shot clock display on or off. Only available on scoreboard styles that include shot clock support (primarily Flipboard basketball boards).
Default: On (when supported)
Shot Clock Time
The starting duration for the shot clock. Common values: 24 seconds (NBA), 30 seconds (NCAA men's), 35 seconds (NCAA women's).
Default: 24 seconds
Reset Time 1
The time the shot clock resets to when the first reset button is tapped. Typically the full shot clock duration (e.g., 24 seconds after a new possession).
Default: 24 seconds
Reset Time 2
A second reset value for the shot clock. In NBA rules, after an offensive rebound the shot clock resets to 14 seconds rather than 24 — this second reset button supports that scenario.
Default: 14 seconds
Show Shot Clock Controls
Whether shot clock controls (Start/Stop, Reset 1, Reset 2) appear on the camera screen and are accessible from the Scoreboard Remote.
Default: On

Animations

Score Animation
Choose how the score display changes when a point is scored. The animation plays in the live camera preview and is burned into the recorded video.
NoneScore updates instantly with no animation
Fade FastOld score fades out quickly; new score fades in — a subtle, snappy transition
Fade SlowSame fade effect as Fade Fast, but at a slower pace
DissolveOld and new scores cross-fade simultaneously — the outgoing score fades out as the incoming score fades in
PopScore briefly scales up then snaps back, drawing attention to the change with a bounce effect
FlipScore appears to fold away horizontally; the new value unfolds in — similar to a physical split-flap board
Default: None

Branding

ScoreCam supports two configurable branding or sponsor logo slots. These are independent of the team logos in the scoreboard — they are full-frame overlay images that can appear anywhere on the video, typically in a corner.

Branding One
The first branding image slot. Configure the image, its on-screen position, and size in the branding settings. Toggle it on and off during recording using a gesture (see Gesture Assignments) or from the Scoreboard Remote. Use this for a primary sponsor logo or team watermark.
Branding Two
The second branding image slot. Works identically to Branding One and can be controlled independently. Useful for a secondary sponsor or for alternating between two logos during the broadcast.
Live Streaming: Branding images can also be configured to display automatically when recording is paused during a live stream. See App Settings → Live Streaming and Live Streaming → Branding on Pause.

Scoreboard Profiles

A Scoreboard Profile is a saved set of scoreboard settings — style, team names, colors, logos, position, clock configuration, and animation — stored under a name you choose. Profiles let you configure each team or tournament once and switch between them in seconds, without re-entering anything.

One profile is always active. Its settings are what appear on the scoreboard during recording. Switching profiles applies all of that profile's settings to the scoreboard immediately.

Profiles save: scoreboard style, team names, team colors, team logos, branding images, position, scale, margins, game clock settings, shot clock settings, and animation style. Live game state (current scores, period, and running clock time) is never stored in a profile.

Creating a Profile

Tap the scoreboard edit button, then tap New Profile. A wizard walks you through each step:

StyleChoose the scoreboard style. Style is locked after creation — to use a different style, create a new profile.
TeamsEnter home and away team names and an optional game description.
PositionSet where the scoreboard appears on the frame and its scale.
Game SettingsPeriod label, score type, and other sport-specific options.
ClockGame clock direction, starting time, and display options.
Shot ClockShot clock duration and reset values (basketball boards only).
Logos & ColorsTeam colors, home and away logo images, and branding images.
AnimationChoose the score animation style.
NameGive the profile a descriptive name, e.g., "Varsity Boys Basketball" or "Spring Soccer League."

Managing Profiles

Activate a Profile
Tap a profile name in the list. All scoreboard settings switch immediately — both in the live preview and in subsequent recordings.
Edit a Profile
Tap the disclosure arrow on any profile row to open its settings. All fields except the scoreboard style can be changed after creation.
Duplicate a Profile
Swipe left on a profile row and tap Duplicate. Use this to create a variant — for example, a version with alternate team colors for a neutral-site game.
Reorder
Long-press a profile row to enter reorder mode, then drag profiles into your preferred order. Place your most-used profiles at the top for quick access.
Delete a Profile
Swipe left on a profile row and tap Delete. At least one profile must always exist. Activate a different profile before attempting to delete the currently active one.
Built-in profiles: ScoreCam pre-loads one default profile for each scoreboard style on first launch. These can be edited, renamed, and deleted like any other profile.
