YouTube requires subscribers to live stream

YouTube may require a minimum number of subscribers before enabling mobile live streaming via third-party apps like ScoreCam — but the exact threshold varies by account and changes over time. Check your channel’s eligibility in YouTube Studio → Go Live, and contact YouTube Support for your specific requirements.

Alternatives if YouTube mobile live streaming is not available on your account:

  • Use Twitch — No subscriber requirement; lower streaming latency and great for live sports.
  • Use Restream or Castr — Sign up at restream.io or castr.io, connect your YouTube account there, and use their RTMP credentials in ScoreCam. This often bypasses the mobile threshold restriction.
  • Use YouTube stream key mode and create the broadcast from a desktop browser in YouTube Studio — sometimes this path has different eligibility than the mobile Go Live flow.
