There are several reasons this can happen. Here are the most common causes:

1. You Have Exceeded the Daily Rate Limit

You are likely hitting a “User requests exceed the rate limit” issue with YouTube, which means you have exceeded the threshold for live streaming starts for that day. This commonly happens when you are testing the stream repeatedly — YouTube only allows so many stream “starts” before cutting you off, and stream duration does not matter. The solution is to wait until the next day and try again.

2. YouTube API Daily Quota Exceeded

YouTube’s Data API v3 gives each connected app a default quota of 10,000 units per day, which resets at midnight Pacific Time. Creating a live broadcast consumes quota units. If you have been live streaming frequently or testing repeatedly, you may have exhausted your daily quota. Wait for the quota to reset at midnight PT and try again.

3. Your Channel Is Not Eligible for Live Streaming

YouTube requires your channel to meet eligibility requirements before live streaming is enabled:

• Your channel must be verified (phone verification via YouTube Studio)
• Your channel must have no live streaming restrictions in the past 90 days
• Mobile live streaming via third-party apps requires at least 1,000 subscribers

4. Your YouTube Authorization Has Expired

ScoreCam uses OAuth 2.0 to connect to your YouTube account. If the authorization has expired or been revoked, live streaming will fail. Go to ScoreCam’s Live Streaming settings and sign out of YouTube, then sign back in to re-authorize the app.
